Soft tissue sarcomas of the infant and the child are very rare such as blastema tumors.
There are many common entities with the adult for the soft tissue, but also entities observed exclusively in children under 15 years of age with specific histopathological features.
Pediatric pathologists are aware of these specificities which are reported within the SFCE (Society for Childhood Cancer).
Pediatric cancer treatment depends on the initial diagnosis which may lead to catastrophic therapeutic management and prognosis when wrong.
Thus it’s highly recommended to obtain a second opinion from a pediatric pathologist who works in cancer center.
